Being an entrepreneur doesn’t really mean being a business owner. An entrepreneur is a person who shifts the productivity of resources from a lower level to a higher level, focuses on being more effective and efficient, helping to make more of the available resources.
An entrepreneur is someone who makes a change happen. A person who can bring out desired result and positive response in the society leading to more growth and development.

And to be a successful entrepreneur, you need to have a lot of skills. And like all skill, entrepreneurial skills can be learned, as long as you want them.
If you are a person looking on to become an entrepreneur, or a entrepreneur who wants to be more successful, this series will give you more insights as to how you can achieve more by developing a more clearer focus and purpose plan.
I will discuss a step by step process on areas where I have repeatedly worked and got results from and even other people who are really and massively successful have worked through and got the results. Along the steps, I will also be giving my personal example for your better understanding.
Analyze yourself first. The more stronger and better you are, the more you will be in demand and also the more you will be able to contribute.
Focus on your qualities. Do a personal and professional SWOT analysis. This will give you a clear picture of where you are strong in. Leverage on your strengths. Find out what you are good at? What makes you happier? For both the questions, the answers will be similar in most of the cases where you may be happy in doing things which you are good in doing them. Find out more ways to be happier from doing things that you are good at.
In my case, my strengths are two. Helping other people; through training and through being a Doctor improving their health. Both these activities are which I enjoy doing again and again. I am good in all the activities I do, and to make myself better, I focus on improving my skills again and again by more education, training and from guidance from senior professionals in both the fields.
So how to make yourself stronger and better?
Like this find out as to what are your strengths, do a complete SWOT analysis. Also, ask other people around you as to in what areas do they perceive you to be good at. It can be your family, your friends, your colleagues, your customers, etc. Find out from the areas where you are really strong at.
After I did my own SWOT analysis, I reached out to other people, as many as possible and asked for those areas where they found me stronger. This gave me a overall view of my strengths.
When it comes to my Healthcare practice and my Training endeavor, my diversified and comprehensive knowledge, and my approach styles of being holistic, optimistic, innovative, realistic, strategic and result oriented were my strengths.
Next, find out the ways by which you can work using your strengths. Find methods to leverage your strengths. How can you and others benefit from your strengths. How can you make your strengths from being potential strengths to real action plans which will get you the desired results.
My strengths help me in my medical practice to integrate various advanced clinical methods and principles in helping people plan and undergo effective and efficient treatment plan for their well-being, thus having a holistic approach in making them healthier and happier.
When it comes to my training, these strengths help me to devise and implement comprehensive and customized training programs which are focused in empowering and enriching the participants facilitating them to peak performance.
Find out ways by which you can make these actions more enjoyable. How much fun you are having right now on working on various activities which uses your strong areas? How can you make these activities even more fun? The more happiness you get from doing anything, the more frequently you will do it. Find exact ways to work on making your strengths more enjoyable.
I make myself more happier and joyful by spending a good and fruitful time in my work. I make very good use of all the time available to me as work time. I found that by reaching out to more people, I am enjoying myself more and also it helps me to earn more too. So, I started (and still continue to) giving more free talks, meet more people, interact more, help more social organizations with similar goals, etc. Writing my thoughts also gives me more pleasure. This is one of the blogs where I now write frequently and post almost everyday (except the days of my vacation).
Find out ways by which you can improve more on your strengths making them more stronger. Naturally there will be other people like you in your industry who are making more money, are more happier and also enjoying more with bigger acceptance and respect in your industry. Find out what is common in yourself and them. In most of the cases, it will be more of the same value, the same strengths. The only difference being, they are more stronger in those specific areas than you. So, the way to reach to their level, or evern higher where you want to be, is to constantly develop your strengths. The various ways to increase your strength are;
- to do more. Practical knowledge and experience is always better. Also, more actions give you more visibility.
My idea of developing my strengths with more practical knowledge is to practice more. There are many ways by which I do it. I volunteer with social organizations whose main area of work demand people with my strong skills. I undergo internship programs. I spend a good amount of time in practical learning and also spend time in doing many demo sessions every time I learn new skills. I also reserve a couple of days every month, where I offer my services both as a healthcare practitioner and also as a trainer at low cost for others, so that I can also work a lot more with different type of clientele and also deliver more value to them.
- to learn more. Theoretical knowledge is also vital as it expands your fundamental knowledge base and also the horizon of your strengths. Learn continuously in your area or field of expertise and become more knowledgeable.
Continuous learning is very important in every industry. At present times and also in the future, in all industries, knowledge is getting updated everyday. The method which you used say an year ago has now become outdated because more new techniques have made the way. I spend a couple of hours every day in learning and expanding my knowledge by attending courses, from books, journals, online resources, etc. It helps me in developing more expertise.
- to collaborate more. Learn from the people whom you refer to as your industry top performers, your experts, your role models, etc. Work with them. Frequently meet them. Assist them. Learn from them. Attend their seminars and workshops.
Both in my healthcare field as well as training field, I have marked a few people as my absolute role models. At the same time, I have myself positioned in the marketplace by joining certain associations, wherein I will constantly and frequently come across industry experts. Every time, I interact with them, I ask them various methods by which they get better and faster results. In my healthcare practice, I spend a couple of days every month and a good week every three months to go and work with top level experts whom I like by assisting them and helping them in their practice. In training, I work with other senior trainers by assisting them in their workshops and also finding more time to collaborate with them personally and learning from them more ways of being a better trainer and learning methods to implement results-oriented training.
To sum-up,
Find out your strengths.
Find out ways to get desired results leveraging on your strengths.
Make them more enjoyable.
Find out ways and become more stronger in your strengths.
For our success.
